Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 July 2026
MaidForYou (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, hold, disclose and protect your personal information, and how we comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). It applies to our website, our online booking system and all cleaning services we provide.
What personal information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Booking and contact details — your name, email address, phone number, service address, booking dates and times, cleaning preferences, access instructions and payment-related information provided when you book or enquire.
- Enquiry information — details you submit through our contact form, including any photographs of your property you choose to upload to help us quote or understand a job.
- Support and chat information — messages and contact details you provide when you use our live chat, along with your name and email if you are already logged in.
- Website usage information — pages visited, links clicked, device and browser type, approximate location, and similar analytics data collected automatically through cookies and tracking technologies (see “Cookies and tracking” below).
- NDIS-related information — where you engage us for NDIS-funded cleaning, we may collect information relevant to arranging and delivering that service, such as your plan-management type and support requirements. We collect this only to provide the service you have requested.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- schedule, deliver, manage and follow up your cleaning services;
- respond to enquiries, quotes and support requests;
- process bookings and payments;
- send booking confirmations, reminders, service updates and, where you have opted in, marketing communications you can unsubscribe from at any time;
- improve our website, services and customer experience;
- measure the effectiveness of our advertising; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We will only use your information for the purposes for which it was collected, for directly related purposes you would reasonably expect, or where you have consented or the law permits.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. We use the following third-party tools, which may collect information about your visit:
- Google Analytics 4 — to understand website traffic and usage patterns. Google may process this data on our behalf. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data.
- Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API — to measure the performance of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show relevant ads. This may involve sharing limited event data (such as that a booking or enquiry occurred) with Meta. Where personal identifiers are shared for ad matching, they are hashed before transmission.
- Live chat (Crisp) — to provide real-time support and store your chat history.
- Google review widgets (Trustindex) — to display customer reviews on our site.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the site function. Where required, we will seek your consent for non-essential tracking.
Disclosure of your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Our cleaning teams and contractors, so they can attend and complete your booking (they receive only the information needed to do so);
- Service providers who help us operate, including our online booking platform, payment processors, email and communications providers, analytics and advertising platforms, and our live chat provider;
- Professional advisers or authorities, where required or authorised by law.
Some of these providers, including our booking platform, analytics and advertising partners, may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes secure hosting, restricted access, and encryption of data in transit where appropriate. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly if an issue arises.
How long we keep your information
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first.
Marketing and your choices
Where you have opted in, we may send you marketing communications. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails, replying STOP to SMS, or contacting us directly. Opting out of marketing does not affect service-related messages such as booking confirmations.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
